Welcome
Advocates: offering safety, comfort and hope to children and youth

We are a non-profit organization serving the children and families of Bartow County and other surrounding North Georgia counties.
In 2010, as always, Advocates, offers safety, comfort and hope to children and youth by providing resources and support to strengthen our community of families. Our dedicated staff works every day to assure that Georgia is a great place to be a child. The above new sign was purchased in part with a grant from the Community Foundation of Northwest Georgia.
If your New Years resolution was to get more involved in the community, we have just the answer you’re looking for! Volunteer opportunities abound whether you’d like to be involved in events, or spend some time as a mentor for a child at the shelter, help keep the clothing closet organized, or any number of things. Just call Marian, our Volunteer Coordinator, and she will find the perfect spot for you!
Our special programs and services include the Flowering Branch Children’s Shelter, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), First Steps, Teen Pregnancy Prevention, Project Safe Place and more. Our programs make the difference and our outstanding Volunteers and Corporate Partners , as well as our dedicated Board of Trustees, make these programs possible.
On our Events page you’ll find details about the upcoming Duck Derby and surrounding events. It’s always so much fun! Last year, over 15,000 of the little yellow quackers were adopted! Our very first VID race was a huge success, and we look forward to a bigger and better version in the coming year. We appreciate all of those who donated prizes, time, and talents, and all those who show they care so much about the children we serve. Thank you!
The Bud, the newsletter written by the children at Flowering Branch can be found on the “News” page.
